Show Cedar OES entertains leaders By Lelah Wilson Cedar Chapter No. 20, Order of the Eastern Star, met in special session Saturday evening, May 17, at the Masonic Temple for the official visitation of the Worthy Grand Matron, Worthy Grand Patron' and Associate Grand Officers of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Utah. Chapter opened in regular form with Mrs. Winifred Thompson, worthy matron presiding, assisted by worthy patron Gustin O. Gooding. The worthy matron and worthy patron extended a cordial welcome to Worthy Grand Matron Beulah Bartholomew, Salt Lake City,- and to Worthy Grand Patron George Lowry, Corinne. Mrs. Gaye Thurston, portance of recording historical events, their locations and dates for future reference. At each visitation she has presented a history of one of the 25 Eastern Star Chapters in Utah. Her choice for the evening was Clara Barton Chapter, Logan, formed during the war and named after the founder of the American Red Cross. Mr. Lowry's message was "Colors in Circles" relating to symbolism and the ritualistic work of the Order. The meeting closed with the group singing "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." Cake, punch and coffee was served to one hundred members and guests at the conclusion of the meeting by Barbara Orr and her committee. Gerry Gooding presided at the coffee service and Marie Endsley at the tea service and punch bowl. Tables were beautifully decorated with spring flowers, centered with netite blue taners Grand Adah, welcomed the Associate Grand Officers, and Marguerite Butler, Associate Grand Conductress, responded with appropriate remarks. Past Grand Matrons Maye B. Yates, Margret Rohn, Martha Prisk, Clarissa Lowry, Rosamond Demman, and Past Grand Patrons Oscar Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, C. Leander Prisk, Gustin O. Gooding and William D. Sheppard were introduced by Conductress Neola Brown and welcomed by Mr. Gooding. Clarissa Lowry graciously responded. Grand representatives, visiting matrons and patrons, and first time visitors were welcomed by Marie Endsley and Winifred Thompson respectively. respec-tively. Ralph Hodges of Radiant Chapter responded. Following the introductions, a history of Cedar Chapter and Franklin Lodge No. 27, Free and Accepted Masons of Utah, was reviewed by Gustin Gooding.
