Show Awards galore at Parowan High School honor assembly PAROWAN - A most successful Awards Assembly was held on Thursday, May 22, evening, at the Parowan High School. As the evening began the crowd was entertained with candid camera shots taken during the school year. It was very gratifying to see the large table loaded with trophies, medals, scholarships and certificates. Since the list was long, and most of the students have been named at various times during the year, all shall not be listed again at this time. honor of being the outstanding actor and the outstanding actress award was shared by Holly Robinson and Jerri Jerome. Mrs. Alta Dalton awarded Louise Davenport with the special Betty Crocker award and honored Morna Rowley as being the outstanding Home Economics Student of the year. Mr. Thales Brown gave pins of merit to the Ag officers: Russell Abbott, Ralph Green, Tony Dalton, Jon Robinson, Mark Joseph, Kay Lister, Don Hulet, David Burton and Phil Pulley. Awards were presented to Mark Joseph for his special achievements throughout the with Ed Walunas and Jerri Jerome honored as Outstanding ' Students in band. Mrs. Marguerite Orton honored Elaine Lawrence as the Outstanding English student. Mrs. Leilani Bentley awarded cheerleading awards to Kristen Bentley, Jerri Jerome, Brenda Stubbs, and Ava Adams. Rammette officer awards to Denise Prisbrey, Elaine Lawrence, Flora Halterman, Wendy Stolk and Laura Barton. Outstanding girl athlete was awarded to Valynn Bentley, Denise Prisbrey was named outstanding Rammette. Mr. Gary Miller awarded the Mrs. Jean Adams issued certificates of awards to all girl athletes, these girls played Women's SoftBall, and Women's Basketball. They are to be complimented for opening new fields of interest for the girls at Parowan High School. Mrs. Adams also issued certificates cer-tificates and ribbons to the editor of the Telarama, Miss Louise Davenport and to the outstanding business students: Miss Susan Pritchard, Miss Denise Prisbrey and Miss Laurie Taylor. Special certificates were awarded to the business students participating in Vocational. Day at SUSC: Susan Pritchard, Denise Prisbrey, Laurie Taylor and Denise Benson. Mr. Richard Johnson issued certificates of award to winners in the state drama contest: Jeff Johnson, Louise Davenport and Nancy Adams. He issued a special certificate to Christine Bryant for her technical work on stage. Ed Walunas received the year. Miss Lori Humpherys was honored as being the first girl to complete a year of FFA. Miss Laura Barton was presented with a special trophy for being the Ag Sweetheart this year. Rick Robinson also received awards for his work in FFA. Tony Dalton was recognized as the Outstanding Ag Mechanic Student; Donald Hulet as the outstanding Green Hand; and Russell Abbott received the award as the Outstanding Ag Student. Mr. Gary Jensen gave awards to those students listed in Who's Who Among Music Students in American High Schools: Holly Robiason, Wendy Stolk, Jerri Jerome, Ed Walunas, David Lamoreaux and Carlyle Potter. Kathy Hanks as given a special award for her work as Chorus Accompanist. Holly Robinson and Jeff Johnson were honored as being Outstanding in Choral outstanding Electronics award to Mark Benson and math awards to Linda Green and Terry Lawrence. Quinten Bowler awarded certificates to Kristen Bentley tor Senate Youth Conference and Laura Barton for outstanding History student. Mr. Bob Tobler gave yearbook awards to Elaine Lawrence, Denise Prince, Linda Green, Wendy Stolk and Chad Hulet. Mr. Hatch's Art awards were given to Elaine Lawrence and Richard Day for ceramics. Mike Robinson as most promising painter, Craig White best all around artist, David Orton for oils, David Lamoreaux charcoal and Phil Hermansen most outstanding. out-standing.
