The week of October 9 through 15 has been declared as National Parent Teachers Association Week throughout the nation and the Iron County PTA Council and individual units will promote membership drives during the week, according to Alison Bushnell, Council chairman. Mayor Kerry Jones has proclaimed the PTA Week in Cedar City and has asked that residents support the PTA in their drive for membership. "We believe in a strong educational system and the part that can be and is being played by PTA units in fostering and promoting better education," , Mayor Jones said. "In proclaiming PTA Week in Cedar City I urge residnets to support the efforts of PTA and its objectives ob-jectives of providing for the welfare of our children in the public educational system," he said. Mrs. Bushnell indicated that all units of the Iron County Council will be staging various membership drives to help in "strengthening the ranks of PTA for a more viable voice in the educational process," she stated. Membership chairmen in each of the PTA Units will be actively soliciting support during the week-long observance, ob-servance, Mrs. Bushnell stated.
