Show City officials 'sensitive to board' City officials have indicated the Cedar City Electric Utility Board's future recommendations, partially garnered from the results of a private firm's recently conducted public opinion survey, will be heeded. City Manager Mike Embley said, "The council will be sensitive to the board from here on in." Although the in-depth analysis of the survey results has not yet been presented to the board, Embley said he felt the chairman would probably ask .. the city council to reduce the size of the board and to go ahead with the proposed feasibility study. "Nothing surprises me about the results," Embley said, "There is not that much known now that wasn't actually felt before." He said he thought respondents were more honest than he might have supposed sup-posed before, particularly on the question concerning whether the present power company's rates were too high or about right. He said the natural tendency would have been for everyone to say they were too high. Demographics (information about the respondents) point up some interesting in-teresting information about the residents of Cedar Citv. Just over 50 percent of the persons questioned were between 18-39, about 37 percent were 40-65. Eleven percent were over 65, according to the tabulations. The tabulations may not equal 100 due to "other" responses and refusals.) The annual income tally shows: less than $10,000--about 28 percent; $10,000-$25,000-57 percent; and over $25,000-11.4 $25,000-11.4 percent. Most persons surveyed felt the services of the present power company were "good" (51.4), 12.1 percent said they were excellent, 29.7 percent said they were fair, and 5.2 percent said they were poor.
