Show Cal-Pac sponsors Public Meeting California-Pacific Utilities Co. will sponsor a public meeting here Tuesday, Oct. 11, to discuss the utility's recent rate increase applications with interested customers. CPU vice president and Southern Utah division manager J. P. Paris said the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the City-County Building on Lincoln Street here. "Representatives from California-Pacific California-Pacific will be at the meeting to outline the reasons why the company must seek the rate increases at this time," Paris stated. "Then, we will answer any questions our customers may have about the company." Paris noted that California-Pacific has two "pass through" rate increase applications pending before the Utah Public Service Commission. On September Sep-tember 26, the company applied to the PSC for a general rate increase to increase the profitability of its Southern Utah operations, the first such application the utility has ever filed in Utah.
