Show Old Main Society Honors Supporters State Board of Regents, SUSC Development Board, faculty and staff. mx names have been added to the plague honoring members of the Southern Utah State College Old Main Society, an organization created to honor the pioneer families instrumental in building S USC's oldest structore and to pay tribute to major financial contributors con-tributors to the college. . Friday evening the names of Dr. and Mrs. Heed W. Farnsworth, Dr. and Mrs. George G. Hales, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary A. Higginson were added to the plaque at a special installation dinner held at SUSC. "The Old Main Society was organized to recognize those persons willing to sacrifice both material goods and money to insure quality education at SUSC," Dennis E. Agle, SUSC Director of Development, said. "We are pleased to honor those brave pioneers who, in 1897, overcame major obstacles ob-stacles with hard work and preser vera nee to build Old Main, and to pay tribute to current supporters for their pioneer spirit and sacrifice to further quality education at SUSC for still future generations," Agle said. Mrs. Ethel W. Farnsworth was named to the society for her donated scholarship endowment, developed to assist worthy students in the area of pre-medicine, made in behalf of her husband, the late Dr. Farnsworth, longtime long-time SUSC supporter. Dr. and Mrs. Hales and Mr: and Mrs. Higginson were named to the society for donations of paintings made to the SUSC permanent per-manent art collection. Both couples are from Blackfoot, Idaho. The Hales presented the college with Benjamin West's "Troilus and Cressida," the Higginson's with Charles Landseer's "Dashing Blade," and Seymour Thomas "Dutch Children." All three paintings pain-tings will be exhibited at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery in January as part of a showing of the college's permanent collection. The Old Main Society plaque will be placed in the foyer of Old Main when adaptive preservation is completed this winter. Honored guests at the installation dinner were Mrs. Farnsworth, Dr. and Mrs. Hales and Mr. and Mrs. Higginson. SUSC President, Hoyden C. Braithwaite was the key speaker for the event which was attended by previously installed Old Main Society members, representatives of the SUSC Institutional Council, the I INSTALLED. Mrs. Ethel W. Farnsworth is a newly installed member of the SUSC Old Main Society. SUSC President Royden C.
