Show BLM tranfer land to Scouts Title on 120 acres of BLM-adminstered BLM-adminstered land in Iron County has been transfered to the Utah National Parks Council, Boys Scouts of America. The tract will become part of the Thunder Ridge Scout Camp ap proximately six miles soutn of Parowan and 15 miles northeast of Cedar City. A total of 1,383 acres has been transferred by BLM to the scouts for the camp. The land was purchased by the Boy Scouts for $7.50 per acre. Mr. Paul Howard, state BLM director, said theses reduced costs were possible under provissions of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act and the Recreation and Public Purposes Act. |
