Show ROLLO-GLYPHICS By Klien RoHo Monday evening was a special time for those of us here at the Iron County Record as we had the special pleasure of presenting to residents of the area the Studio Band of the United States Army Field Band it is the second concert by the United State Army Field Band sponsored by the Iron County Record and we feel that those who attended came away fully entertained as the special unit presented a concert entitled "Jazz: A great American Heritage." We were especially pleased and those of the Studio Band were very cognizant of the fact that residents of the area attended at-tended the concert in family units. For the second time the group has appeared on a Monday evening and for the second time the group billed as "The Musical Ambassadors Am-bassadors of the Army," have been impressed to comment on the fact that families came as a unit to attend the concert. We have been pleased with the many favorable responses to the concert. As the sponsoring organization may we simply state that it was our pleasure -- all of us here at the Record -- to be able to provide such an evening of entertainment by such a talented group. The pleasure was all ours and we hope that the nearly 800 who attended were well pleased. Thank you. There are a couple of special thanks that we need to make, however. ' First to the members of the Cedar City National Guard Unit we express our thanks for their volunteering to serve as ushers for the evening. It was a gesture that we appreciated. ap-preciated. And secondly we extend our appreciation to Larry Wright, director of bands at the Cedar City High School, who helped with the promotion of the band through his High School and Elementary band students. We hope that those students who attended were modivated to perfect their talents to the degree displayed by members of the Army Studio Band. |
