Show Last Rites Accorded "Aunt Het" at Paragonah Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Em-ma R. Edwards were held in Paragonah Ward Chapel Saturday, Satur-day, May 2. Mrs. Edwards passed away on Thursday after a short illness. She was 81 years of age. Bishop Victor R. Robinson conducted con-ducted the funeral services which commenced with the choir singing sing-ing 'That Beautiful Land." The invocation was by Leo Beagley. A life sketch of the deceased was given by Mrs. Alice R. Robinson and the speakers were Willard Lund, Bishop Robinson and Heber Williams. Special musical numbers num-bers were a vocal solo by Jim Williams of Greenville, who sang "In The Garden", accompanied by Gayle Edwards; a vocal solo. I "Mother Machree", by June Top-ham, Top-ham, accompanied by Mrs. J. Lowe Barton; a vocal solo, "Face to Face," by George Williams of Parowan, accompanied by Mrs. Williams and a mixed quartet, "Lead Me Gently Home, Father," by Mrs. Wilma Lamoreaux, Mrs. Sarah D. Robinson, William T. Davenport and D. Amasa Stones. Clark Lamoreaux pronounced the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by Miss Gayle Edwards Ed-wards of Milford, a grand daughter. daugh-ter. At the cemetery, the choir sang "Resting Now From Care and Sorrow" and the dedicatory prayer was by Harold Edwards. Emma R. Edwards was born In Greenville, Beaver County, on Sept 3, 1877. the daughter of William and Elizabeth Williams Richards. After her father died the family moved to Paragonah. On Oct 11, 1885 she married Wil liam R. Edwards and the marriage mar-riage was solemnized later In the St George Temple. Mrs. Edwards was a faithful LDS mother and was affectionately affection-ately known as "Aunt Het" She had been a Relief Society visiting visit-ing teacher for over 50 years. Her husband died Sept 7, 1941. Survivors Include the following sons and daughters, Gladys, Paragonah; Par-agonah; Claude Edwards and Mrs. Claude (Helen) Dix, Cedar City; Merrill Edwards, Gerald Edwards, Mrs. Thos. (Marie) Hems tree t, and Mrs. Leo (Lorraine) (Lor-raine) Beagley, Salt Lake City; Cecil Edwards, Provo; Hai. Id Edwards, Ed-wards, Mllford; Mrs. Faye (Leo-la) (Leo-la) Duke, Ogden. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a half-brother, E. M. Edwards, Paragonah. |
