Show FOUR TO ATTEND . . Girls' State Candidates Named - Four Junior girls from the Cedar Ce-dar City High School have been selected to attend Girls' State at the Utah State University campus In Logan, June 7 through June 14. Girls State is an annual event sponsored by the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary. Named as representatives from Cedar High, and their sponsors, were the following: Cynthia Williams, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Rymal Williams, Lions Club. Virginia Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Brown, sponsored by Ladies of Elks. Sheila Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kumen Gardner, sponsoied by the Business and Professional Women's Club. Maxlne Naegle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Naegle, sponsored spon-sored by the . American Legion Auxiliary. Purpose of Girls' State is to educate young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities re-sponsibilities of American citizenship. citi-zenship. Girls' State is an effort on the part of the Legion Auxiliary to bring to the girls of the state a knowledge of the fundamental principles of American government govern-ment through actual practices and control of the state offices during Girls' State.
