Show L D S Institute to Graduate 97 at May 24 Ceremonies I Some 97 graduates will receive certificates of graduation In LDS Institute rites at the College of Southern Utah Sunday, May 24. Th program will be held In the CSU auditorium beginning at 05 p. m. under the direction of Institute Director Paul Dahl. The 97 students, largest group in the history of the Institute, will hear Dr. Royal L. Garff deliver de-liver the commencement address and student Bonnie Adair, Tropic, Utah, was selected by the grad uates to represent them In presenting pre-senting an address. Dr. Garff is a lecturer and author au-thor of national renoun. He Is presently professor of marketing and speech at the University .of Utah. He has organized and con ducted training work and sales clinics for many business concerns. con-cerns. Over the past few years he has traveled more than 300,-1 000 miles for various speaking engagements. Dr. Garff s book, "You can Learn to Speak," Is in Its seventh printing. He has been a . teacher In church organizations all his life, member of a bishopric and Is now a member of the general board i the LDS Mutual Improvement Im-provement Association. Music for the program will be furnished by the Institute chorus and string ensemble. CSU staff members Dr. Blaine Johnson and Prof. Roy Halversen, will direct the music. " v Invited to the Robert Reld home on Friday as Mrs. Reld entertained en-tertained were members of her pinochle club. The ladles enjoyed enjoy-ed delicious refreshments after which the evening was spent in playing pinochle. Presented with high score prizes were Mrs. James Hoyle, Mrs. Humbert Rosenberg Ros-enberg and Mrs. J. V. Adams. Mrs. Humbert Rosenberg was pleasantly surprised on Wednesday Wednes-day morning as her club friends dropped in for a birthday brunch in honor of her birthday. Bearing birthday wishes were Donna Reed, Farrel Adams, Wana Hoyle, Jean Robb, Elva Benson, Zola Duerksen, Wanda Dockstad-er Dockstad-er and Colleen Nelson. |
