Show Various Activities Planned for Annual i Girls' Day Event at Parowan High Friday The annual 'Girl's Day activities activi-ties at Parowan High School will be held on Friday of this week it is announced by Mrs. Karlene Paxman, homemaking instructor at the school. With school to be held as usual In the forenoon, a long list of activities have prepared for the afternoon and evening outlined by Mrs. Pax-man Pax-man and a committee chairmen , for the day. The afternoon will get under way with the girls of the five upper grades presenting a tea I and fashion show, at 2 p. m. in the high school gym. The moth-ers moth-ers of all girls and all ladies I are cordially invited to attend , the tea and fashion show. The show will feature sewing done by I the gi:'3 during the school year. In addition there will be fashions j from Miriam's Style Shop and the Bates Fashion Show sponsored sponsor-ed by Parowan Trading Center. In the evening a girls' choice dance will be held in the gym at which the preferred male student stu-dent will be chosen.. Each of the classes from the eighth through 12th has entered a boy in this contest, with the girls to make the selection by voting. Class entrants are as follows: Eugene Robb, seniors; Reldon Matheson, Juniors; Kenneth Bettridge, Bet-tridge, sophomore; Philip Bayles, freshman, and Kent tfalton, for eightl. grade. Committee chairmen In charge of the various events are as follows: fol-lows: Helen Decker, chairman; Dayle Stevens, script chairman; Omah Lee Smith, refreshments; Norma Alger, decorations; Darlene Dar-lene Thornton, program and in vitations, and Jerrolyn Gurr, floor show. The theme of the afternoon and evening's activities is "Dreamland" and decorations at the fashion show and dance will be built around this theme. While the girls are busy with their tea and fashion show in the afternoon the boys will gather at the athletic field where a class track and field meet will be held. |
