Show Annual Cancer Crusade Launched The annual American Cancer Society Crusade was launched this week in Cedar City with Mayor Kumen Gardner signing a proclamation declaring April as Cancer control month. Mrs. D. G. Cowan, County chairman, listed the primary objectives ob-jectives fo'r the April Drive. "Through our educational message mes-sage we expect to save lives from cancer today, and through our fund raising appeal we expect to save lives tomorrow." The No. 1 goal will be saving the lives that are lost unnecessarily. unneces-sarily. "As part of our education campaign we seek to persuade more adults to have an annual health checkup by a physician and to learn the seven danger signals that may mean cancer. These two important steps can prevent needless cancer deaths," I said Mrs. Cowan. The second goal will be to raise money for research, education educa-tion and service. 'The hope of saving half of those who develop cancer rests in research, and with the growing number of scientists involved In it," she said.
