Show lilllusic Arts Dates Artist Concerts Group! I Music lovers of this area are , assured a rare treat Monday, i April 6, when the popular Utah Artist Concerts appear In Cedar I City as the next number of the Cedar City Music Arts series. The concert will be presented in the new Cedar High School auditorium, auditor-ium, beginning at 8:15 p. m. The Utah Artists group is composed com-posed of Lila J. Kitchin, soprano; Norma Lee Madsen, violinist; Val J. Stuart, tenor, and Myron Sy-phus, Sy-phus, pianist, with Lennox Lar-sen, Lar-sen, assisting artist at the piano. The Utah Artists Concerts have been organized and promoted by the Utah Concerts Council, with membership from institutions and music organizations throughout through-out the state, including the Cedar Ce-dar City Music Arts Association. A delightful program has been outlined for the Cedar City concert. con-cert. The opening number will be Beethoven's "Sonata, Opus 31, No. 2," by Myron Syphus, pianist. Mr. Syphus will also conclude the program with Uoussel's "Bourree, Opus 14, No. 3." Norma Lee Madsen, violinist, I will play "Sonata for Violin and Piano, Opus 13" by Faure. She will be accompanied at the piano by Lennox Larsen. Val J. Stuart, tenor, and Lila J. Kitch'i, soprano, will appear in two solos each, and then pre-1 .;ent three duet numbers. Mr. , Stuart will sing "Cerchera Ion-tana Ion-tana terra," from Don Pasquale, by Donizetti, and 'Tu loa sai" by Torelli. Mrs. Kitchin will sing H "Ohle, Meneche" by Glannlnl and "Addlo, senza rancor," from La Boheme, by Puccini. The three duets by Mrs. Kitchin Kitch-in and Mr. Stuart will be "Lon-tana," "Lon-tana," from Mefistofele, by Bolto; I 'The 'Watch' Duet" from Die Fledermaus, by Strauss, and "O seave fanclulla," from La Boheme, Bo-heme, by Puccini. The group is composed of outstanding out-standing performers in their field who have gained much recognition recogni-tion and are all making rapid progress in their climb to additional addi-tional fame. They have performed perform-ed in wide areas in some of the most popular concerts. Their appearance in Cedar City is certain to be a highlight of the winter musical programs of this area. |
