Show PUBLIC HEARINGS CALLED ON HIGHWAY - HOTEL Two public hearings will be held in Cedar City, at the City and County building, Thursday, April 2, one to be conducted by the Mayor and City Council of Cedar City and the other by the Utah State Road Commission. The City hearing will be held at 7:30 p. m., and the State hearing at 9:00 p. m., both to be held in the court room of the City and County building. The hearing called by the city administration is for the purpose of considering the possible sale of the Escalante Hotel property on the corner of Main and 200 North Streets, now owned by Cedar City Corporation. An offer to purchase the hotel and property pro-perty has been received by the city, and the public hearing has been called to air the proposal and determine deter-mine the thinking of citizens generally on the matter of disposing of the hotel property. The hearing called by the State Road Commission Commis-sion is for the purpose of discussing realignment of Highway 56 from Cedar City west, to be improved this summer. Changes in the alignment of the highway high-way is contemplated from the Leigh hill near the West city limits to the livestock auction barn west of the city. The road improvement project includes the section sec-tion of highway from Main Street in Cedar City to the Iron Springs Junction. |
