Show So. Utah Dairy Conducts Annual Meeting With over 150 members and guests in attendance, the annual meeting of the Southern Utah Dairy Cooperative was held on Monday evening in the Parowan Elementary School lunch room. A dinner was prepared and served serv-ed to those present by members of the lunch room personnel and the wives of dairy company officers of-ficers and employees, to get th? meeting under way. Thomas A. Robinson, president of the company board, presided and outlined the business agenda agen-da for the evening, and Harold Schweppe, company manager, gave the yearly report, and ex plained the reason for some of the items in this report, which showed some gains and some losses In various departments. Attorney Justin Stewart, who had been employed to draw up new article of incorporation and by-laws for the cooperative, to brings them up to date, then gave an explanation of the need for these changes, and reported on various sections contained in i!rm. Reports were also given by W. clir Rowley and Roy Morris, members of the committee on the revamping of these artiles and bylaws. Following these reports re-ports the new articles of incorporation incor-poration were adopted by those present. One of the features of the new articles makes it possible for all patrons of the Southern Utah Dairy Company to become owner-members of the cooperate and sha . in all future earnings or benetiis that mltJit acrue in the association. Memberships in the cooperative coopera-tive were set at $100 by the bylaws, by-laws, but these memberships can be nurchased for an initial nav- mcnt of $10.00 and their earning the additional $90 for a full paid up membership of $100. In order to do this, patrons are to save all cash register slios received on purchase from the cooperative, and these can be turned in for membership credits Bylaw number 10 provides that memberships can be purchased for $100, and can be paid in cash or by transfer of purchase credits they have been allocated. It is also provided that whenever when-ever a prospective member shall have paid $10 in cash or accumulated accum-ulated that amount of patronage credits in his membership account, ac-count, such prospective member shall be entitled to all privileges of membership, including that of voting and holding office, but shall not be entitled to receive re-ceive a certificate of membership member-ship until th full amount of the membership fee has been paid or accumulated in his account The annual election of the cooperative co-operative was held as a final item of business with Roy Benson Ben-son and Ray Morris elected to serve as members of the board for two year teams. Benson was re-elected to that board and Morris Mor-ris was named to replace T. A. Roblnso, who was not a candidate can-didate for re-election, after serving serv-ing for many years as an officer of the cooperative. |
