Show I Former Resident Succumbs to Heart Attack , Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Cedar First Ward chapel for William Edward Stevenson, 57, former Cedar City resident who has made his home in Las Vegas, Nev., for the past 14 years. Mr. Stevenson died suddenly of a heart attack Thursday, March 22. Apparently In good health, he had been at work during the day and following the evening meal at home he was suddenly stricken. strick-en. He was rushed to the hospital butttt died In about an hour after af-ter the attack. He was born In Cedar City on Feb. 26, 1899, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Paramore Stevenson. He married La Verne Evans In Parowan on Jan. 1, 1924. He is surviving by his widow, Las Vegas; two sons', Boyd, San Diego, Calif., and Leon, Las Vegas, Also surviving Is one grandchUd, and also one brother, King Stevenson, Cedar City, and six sisters, Mary E. Clark, Stella Hallman, Olivia Nelson, Cedar City; Naomi Davis, Midway; Le-Venla Le-Venla Tait, Ely, Nev., and Drus-cilia Drus-cilia Christensen, Salt Lake City. The funeral services were conducted con-ducted by Bishop Homer S. Jones of the' Cedar Fifth Ward, and burial was in the Cedar City cemetery. Speakers at the services were Lehl M. Jones and Charles R. Hunter. Invocation was by George W. Grlmshaw, benediction by James Heywood, and the dedica tory prayer by Leonard Topham, Prayer at the mortuary was by Bishop Jones. The musical program Included two numbers,' "I Know My Heavenly Hea-venly Father Knows", and "Lead Me Gently Home", by a quartet composed of Lois McConnell, Mamie Eck, Ray Cosslett and Vernon Jones'; a vocal solo, "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked", by Theon Thorley; an organ solo "One Sweetly Solemn Thought," by Belle Jones', and a vocal duet, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" by Howard Wood and Her-chel Her-chel Neeley. Accompanist was Bell M. ones. |
