Show Annual Regional MIA Music Festival Scheduled for Saturday Evening The second annual Regional M. I. A. Music Festival wiU be held In Cedar City Saturday evening in the College of Southern Utah fieldhouse. Nine stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, will participate and it is expected that 750 voices will Join together to form the chorus. A special feature of the music festival will be the addition of a regional orchestra which will perform and aJso accompany the chorus. The orchestra will be under the direction of Professor Roy L. Halversen, head of the department of music at C S U. Announcement was also made that Crawford Gates, noted composer com-poser and conductor from the Brigham Young University, will be in attendance. Gates will lead the combined chorus In the "Halleujah Chorus" from Handel's Han-del's "The Messiah." The orches-tra orches-tra will accompany this number. Gates will be in attendance as a representative of the MIA General Board He was the composer com-poser of "Promised Valley," plus a number of symphonies that have been played by the Utah Symphony orchestra. The MIA Regional Orchestra will also play Schubert's "Unfinished "Unfin-ished Symphony," it was announced an-nounced by Mr. and Mrs'. William H. Manning, regional music directors. di-rectors. The performance will commence com-mence at 7 p. m. The early time has been set so that participants from long distances can return to their homes following the performance. per-formance.
