Joan Wheat ley. Mrs. Phyllis Robb and Mrs. Haz-el Haz-el Dawn Evans represented our ward with parts on the program. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Topham and Mrs. Eva Topham were very shocked to receive word Thursday Thurs-day of the sudden death by a heart attack of their brother-in-law, Wm. Stevenson In Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nev. Mr. Stevenson was about his employment with the school as usual, apparently In good health when death struck. Relatives attended the funeral services and burial in Cedar City on Tuesday. Miss Pat Robb, a former resident resi-dent of this community a home economics major at the U S A C at Logan, visited Sunday with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Robb and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Davenport as weU as her brother Ferrel. Barton Prothero Is here visiting his mother, Mrs. Amy Prothero, Raymond and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Prothero. He is employed in southern California. Relatives and friends in this locality received word recently of the marriage of Miss Gloria Robb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robb of Spokane, Wash. The groom is Sgt. Ronald J. Ours of Pennsylvania. The marriage took place March 12 at Spokane, the newlyweds lmmediat&'y left for the East, coming by way of Salt Lake City to visit with her grandfather, Milton Robb. Gerry Thornton stopped over for a brief visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thornton and oOier family members last week end. He has employment with the railroad and he accepted a transfer from the Los Angeles area to Salt Lake City. Alex Robb of Idaho Falls spent a few days visiting here, on Parowan Par-owan and Cedar City with his sisters, Mrs. Alice Robinson, Mrs. Martha Dalton and Mrs. Pearl McConnc'l. Mrs. Robinson accompanied accom-panied him from Salt Lake City on Wednesday. Mr. Robb returned to his home Saturday. Mrs. Gaytha Benson and her daugher Gay Lynn returned late Tuesday evening from Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif., where they had; spent a week with their husband j and father, Joe Benson, who has: employment there. Robinson. Rob-inson. Mrs. Pearl MeConncll of Cedar City spent a few days here during dur-ing the week as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. EUis Robinson. Mrs. Irene Robinson entertained enter-tained a group of friends at a quilting party Thursday af'er-noon. af'er-noon. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Abbott and three children of Salt Lake City, were here a few days visiting visi-ting with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Abbott and family. Mr. and Mrs. Justin Fairbanks of Salt Lake City and other family fam-ily members of Mrs. Anne Talbot surprised her on his birthday Saturday Sat-urday with a nice family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lowe Barton sponsored a fine program Saturday Satur-day evening as a building fund project. The Barton's, along with the building committee wish to thank Mrs. Beth Leigh and her talented music students, Patricia Patri-cia Wallace, Janette Leonard and Kay Heywood, as wcjl as Mrs Hazel Granger. Joe Hunter's saw music was outstanding as were his vocal solos. so-los. Road Patrolman Bob Reese's solos and San Mitchell, drummer, added much to the success of the program. Musicians from Parowan were Mrs. Annie Jones and Mrs. Ra-mona Ra-mona Mitchell, and Clayton Dal-ton, Dal-ton, the dancing farmer. . The Panguitch talent, Mrs. Beth Hurst and Harry de Long were hard to beat on the accordion, piano and banjo. It took good sportsmanship sports-manship for the "Paragonah Dolls," John C. Barton. Chester Robinson. Jim Stones, Bert Robinson. Rob-inson. Bill Boardman, Ivan Robb and Myron Abbott to perform as they did. Haze! Jean and Wllma are always helpful with their musical talent. We also want to thank those who came from other towns to help make up the appreciative audience. The following program was put on Sunday by the Aaronic Priesthood Priest-hood boys In Sacrament meeting. Talks were given by J. B. Jones. Gordon Topham, Ronald Topham, Heber Lund, Lyle Topham, Rob-In Rob-In Lamoreaux and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux, a mother. Musical numbers were a piano solo by La-.Nell La-.Nell Topham; trumpet solo, Mike Williamson, and a saxophone solo by Duane Lamoreaux. These mentioned, along with Stephen Topham, Douglas Evans, Jimmy Lamoreaux, LaMar Anderson, Ar-dell Ar-dell Talbot. Kenneth Topham, Mike Lamoreaux and Niel Talbot, all received Priesthood awards, which were presented by Bishop Victor Robinson, and his counselors, counse-lors, Clark Lamoreaux and Orson Talbot. Gordon Topham, Rone.'d Topham and Robin Lamoreaux received special mention for 100- attendance throughout the year. Heber Lund, Ardell Talbot, Kenneth Topham and Duane Lamoreaux received pins. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Robb of Cedar Ce-dar City were In town Sunday visiting his brother Clark Robb and family. A group of P II S Future Farmer Farm-er boys from here accompanied their advisor , Thales Brown, and other class members to Hurricane Hurri-cane last Wednesday to participate partici-pate In activities with other schools. Robin Lamoreaux competed com-peted in the public speaking contest. |
