Show Council Revises Ordinances To Meet Costs At a special meeting of the City Council last Monday night, a decision was made to revise three of the city's ordinances, dealing with the charges for services ser-vices rendered by the city to residents res-idents of the community. Electric Rates New rates for sale of electric power in both the residential and commercial brackets were set. The rates for residential users is slightly lower In some brackets brack-ets but pets away from the 1 cent per KW hour except for 300 KW used mostly in water heating. The new residential rate Is as follows 25 KW, 8c per KW with a minimum charge of $2.00, the next 25 KW at 4 cents, the next 100 at 3 cents, next 150 at 1V2 cents, next 300 at 1 cent and all over that back up to m cents. The old rate was ,20 KW or 10 cents per KW with $2.00 minimum, mini-mum, then the .next 40 for 4 cents, next GO for 3 cents, next 80 for IVi cents and all over that at 1 cent per KW hour. Commercial Plan The new commercial rate is up and is as follows: first 40 KW hours at 8 cents per KW, next 60 at 6 cents per KW, next 100 at 4 cents per KW, next 300 at 3 cents per KW, next 1000 at 2 cents per KW and all over that at IVi cents per KW hour. The new water rates raise the minimum charge from $1.25 per month to $1.75 for which 12,000 gallons of water may be used the same as before. The next 13,000 gallons will be charged for at the rate of 10 cents per 1000 gallons, Instead of 8 cents per 1000 as in the past with all over that amount used to cost 8 cents per thousand gallons Instead of 6 cents under the old ordinance. At the same meeting the City Council decided to have Wasatch Electric Company build the power pow-er and signal lines from the Paragonah hydro plant up to the Dumping station and also the Intake works In both forks of the Paragonah canyon, as well as the final line through Parowan city to coordinate the two plants and the intake works In both canyons. |
