Show George F. Rowley Is Sustained as Second Ward Bishop George F. Rowley was sustained sustain-ed as bishop of the Parowan Second Ward at the regular conference con-ference in that ward last Sunday afternoon. He will replace Bishop Claude W. Adams, who is retiring re-tiring from that position after serving as head of the ward for the past five years. Also sustained with Bishop Rowley were Norman M. Adams as first counselor and Glen Jones as second counselor, with Glen L. Halterman as ward clerk. They will replace John H. Pendleton, first counselor; Kent W. Mitchell, second counselor, and Rupert Hulet, ward clerk, all of whom have served with Bishop Adams. The members of the new bishopric bish-opric have been active in L D S affairs. Mr. Rowley has served as an assistant in the Second Ward Sunday School and as assistant ward, clerk for several years. Mr. Adams, who moved here from Cedar City at the first of the year, has been scoutmaster in the second sec-ond ward since coming here. Mr. Jones has been Parowan Stake Scout Commissioner and has been instructor of the Second Ward Teacher's quorum. Mr. Halterman Hal-terman has been second assistant in his ward Sunday School and is also secretary of the Parowan Stake Y M M I A at present. |
