Show College Coeds Await Annual Girls' Week Activities Girls' Week at the College of Southern Utah, sponsored annually an-nually by the Associated Women Students, got into full swing on Wednesday and will be climaxed by two major events later in the week. j Wednesday's activities lnclud-( ed an excursion to St. George for a swimming picnic and rec-, reation party. Friday night the annual "Last Chance" dance, a girls' choice affair, will climax the social activities ac-tivities of the week. The dance,' to be held in the college hall, will as usual be a highlight of the social season at the college. Feature of the evening will be the crowning of the "Coed of the year," with the Identity of the! winner of the coveted honor kept , secret until the ceremonies at , the dance. The final event of the week's j activities will be a fashion show and tea to be held Sunday, May 1, in the new auditorium, with mothers of the girls attending as special guests. Students from the college sewing classes will model the Items to be featured in the show. Officers for next year will be elected during the week. Election of AWS officers fori next year will be conducted to-1 day Thursday. Nominations have been made and balloting will take place Thursday. Nominated for the position of president are Mary Carol Lemmon of Parowan, and Ivone Ogden, of Delta. Candidates Can-didates for secretary are Marlyn Lovell, Kanarraville, and Rula Prince, Panguitch. |
