Show Industrial Council Members of CIO To Convene in Cedar Over 150 delegates and their 'partners from throughout the state of Utah will swarm into Cedar City on Thursday, May 5 for the convention of the Utah State Industrial Union Council of the C I O. The convention ac tivities will continue through Saturday, May 8. Mayor Arnold Anderson will welcome the union members to the city Thursday morning before be-fore the convention breaks up into business sessions. Presiding Presid-ing over the meetings will' be Ormand Konkle, Salt Lake City, president of the state council. Activities for the auxiliary organization or-ganization have also been planned, plan-ned, according to Mrs. E. J. Slack, president of the Cedar City C I O auxiliary. Mrs. Kay Chamberlain has been placed In charge of the auxiliary activities. ' Registration Thursday Registration will take place on Thursday and highlight of the social activities will be Thursday Thurs-day evening when both the council coun-cil delegates and the auxiliary members meet at a banquet. Headquarters for the three-day meet will be Hotel El Escalante. Also In attendance will be De-lora De-lora Burger, Salt Lake City, president pres-ident of the state auxiliary group. Events Friday and Saturday will deal more particularly with business of the organization. Sessions Ses-sions are set for Friday morning, morn-ing, Friday afternoon and Saturday Satur-day morning. The convention is a lead-off in a series of state-wide functions being planned in Cedar City within the next few months. Following the C I O convention Cedar City will play host to both Utah State Lions convention and the Utah State Elks convention. A number of entertaining programs pro-grams have been arranged for the C I O leaders for the weekend week-end convention. |
