Show Wool Fashion Show j Climaxes Association Banquet A "Make It Yourself With Wool" Fashion Show, presented by the Woolgrowers auxiliary was a highly enjoyed feature of the Cedar City Livestock Association Asso-ciation banquet program last Thursday evening. Tlie banquet hall was beautifully beauti-fully decorated in a Valentine theme, which made a lovely setting set-ting for the fashion show which was the climax for the Auxiliary organization sewing campaign. Sewing for the' fashion show started last summer under the able direction of the Auxiliary sewing chairman, Charlotte Cane. She has served in that capacity for several years and has given freely of her time and talents to assist young sewers to enter the state contests wfoere they have made ,showingVahd gained high 1 ratings. Also contributing to the success of the show were Miss ' Helen Funk, junior high school sewing instructor, who directed a grup of teon-.agers.. and Mrs. Carmen Joneswho is instructor (or the adult education tailoring tailor-ing class. Leading the fashion show were three girls who went to Salt Lake City to participate in the state ' Make It Yourself With Wool" contest, Miss Karen Froyd, in the senior division, wearing a suit; Thelma Davis, junior division, a suit, and Miss Laurena iJones, junior division, wearing" a jacket-dress. jacket-dress. Others who participated were the Misses Norene Heaton and Laurel Lunt, suits; Patty Petty and Helen Funk, dresses; Barbara Lunt, a Jumper dress; Loretta Prince. Marion Munford, Sandra Wood. Sandra Langford, Lyona Cox. skirts; Mary Ann Reese, wearing skirt and blouse she had made and a coat "her mother had made; Cleo Tullls and Carolyn Knell, both of Newcastle, New-castle, wearing skirts and matching match-ing westkets, and Mrs. Ila Bauer and her daughter Janet, in wool dresses. Miss Janet Jensen modeled a skirt made from wool 30 years old. It had been made over several sev-eral times and yet looked lovely and has many years of wear left in it. The sponsors of the wool fashion fash-ion show hope that through such events the public can mrre fully realize that pure wool is truly the wonder cloth. It has stood the test of thousands of years, they point out,and has proven more durable, more absorbent, more wrinkle resistant, a better insulator, and hlds a better color col-or than any other fabric, they claim. |
