Show Columbia Edges Out Milt's for Jaycee Tourney Title Columbia Iron mines edged out the Cedar City basketball league champions. Milt's Circus Lounge. 36 to 34 to take the Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce basketball tournament tour-nament title Wednesday night. In a game that saw the Miners lead from the start, but never by more than seven points, Milt's managed to take the lead at only one time during the game, that with three minutes to play in the fourth and final quarter. 31 to 32. Two Tul shots and a field gnl by Bunny Fullmer in the last two minutes of play brought the Miners to the top and gave them the tournament trophy. However. Bud Bauer, with 25 second to go had a chance at the free throw-line throw-line to even the score, but missed both shots. In the consolation bracket of the tournament the Jaycees took the measure of Tucker Coal, 41 to 31 in a game which they led most of the way. At the third period per-iod Tuckers evened the score at '21 all. but were unable to keep up with the Jaycees in the final canta w hen Keith Cripps dumped in four field goals to lead in the scoring department. An all-star team was selected from the tournament entries with Columbia placing two men on the team. Ray Lindquist and Fullmer Full-mer from Columbia were selected along with Nick Lunt from Milt's, Caylen Berry of Tuckers and Conrad Con-rad Hatch from the Jaycees. Fullmer led all scorers in the tournament, dunking in a total of 33 points in two games. In the first round of play Tuesday Tues-day evening the Circus Lounge tromped Tucker Coal t the tune of 15 to 30. w hile Columbia was scoring a 37 to 25 victory over the Junior Chamber. These f'mr teams were the tip four in the Cedar City basketball league conducted throughout the season. I Trophies were presented in i ceremonies following the tourney to the City league champions, Milt's Circus Lounge and to Columbia Co-lumbia for its tournament victory. vic-tory.
