Show I Broncos Display Football Awards H it : A If . - f Football sweaters and blankets, awarded at an assembly program this week to members of the Branch Agricultural college football team are displayed by three squad members mem-bers and Coach Dave Gates. Wearing the three types of sweater awards and holding blanket issued to four year lcttermen, are left to right, Don Keeney, first year; Thales Johnson, second year; Frank "Murph" Manzione, third year. Football letterman sweaters were awarded to members of the 1952 Bronco football team Friday, Feb. 13, with 22 members receiving receiv-ing the four different types of awards according to the number of years of participation. Coach Dave Gates handed out the awards, two to four year team members, two three-year lettermen awards, four two year sweaters and 14 sweaters for first year participants. For the first year of play on the Bronco squad the members receive a navy blue sweater with the letters B A C in white. Two year sweaters are white with blue lettering and two blue stripes on the arm indicating two years of play. Three year sweaters sweat-ers are a combination of cloth bodv and leather arms wiih white lettering, on the cloth body of blue. The fourth and final year of participation is awarded with a blanket, navy blue, trimmed trim-med in white and huge B. A. C. lettering in the center. Kent Myers and Jerry Godard were recipients of the four year awards while Frank (Murph) Manzione and Romer Scott received re-ceived three year sweaters. For two. years on the squad, awards went to Thales Johnson, Jesse Matthews, Bob Crane and Hardy Fhelps. Receiving first-year awards were Larry Crawford, .Theron Johnson, Jerry Layne, Jack Sawyers! Saw-yers! Max Tompkinson, Ken Top-ham, Top-ham, Scott Davis, Ken Frost, Jack Sargent, LaMar Clark, Ronnie Hone, Don Keeney, Bud Fullmer and Ronnie Phelps. |
