Show Utah Merit System Plans Civil Service Examinations The Utah Merit System Council Coun-cil has announced a new series of State Civil Service examinations examina-tions in professional, stenographic, stenogra-phic, and typing positions LeRay S. Howell, merit system supervisor, super-visor, announced today. Positions open and their salary sal-ary ranges arer intermediate child welfare worker, $250-$310; intermediate case worker, $240-$290; $240-$290; junior case worker, $210-$250; $210-$250; interviewer I, $266 $335; junior serologist bacteriologist, $255-$330; junior s?nographer, $160-$231; typist, $155-$231. High school seniors and high school graduates are eligible to compete for the pc-sit'ons of junior jun-ior stenographer and typist. College Col-lege seniors and college graduates gradu-ates are eligible to compete for the interviewer I and intermediate intermedi-ate case worker, and college graduates with majors in bacteriology bac-teriology may compete for junior serologist - bacteriologist. Persons with 1 or 2 years of graduate study in an approved school of social work may compete for the child welfare positions. Applications should be filed not later than March 31. 1953. The written examination will be held on April 18, 1953.
