Show Elks Set Final Date For Annual Contest Applications for the coveted "Most Valuable Student" awards given annually by the Elks National Na-tional Foundation, will be ac cepted by the local lodge until March 1, according to Ralph Adams, in charge of the local scholarship awards. Awards will be made by the local lodge, and the winners then become eligible for state competition, and the state winners for the national awards. Any students in the graduating graduat-ing class of a high school or junior jun-ior college, who is a resident within the jurisdiction of the Order, Or-der, is eligible to compete. Scholarship, citizenship, personality, per-sonality, leadership jersever-ence, jersever-ence, resourcefulness, patriotism and general worthiness are the criteria by which these young applicants will be judged. Application blanks and complete com-plete information and instructions instruc-tions may be obtained from the Cedar City Elks lodge. |
