Show Parowan Fights Way Into First Place Tie TEAM STANDINGS Team Won Lost Pet. Parowan 4 2 .6(57 Beaver 4 2 .667 Delta 4 2 .667 Millard 3 3 .500 Hincklev 2 4 .333 Milford 1 5 .167 Following last week's round of games in the Millard division of Region Six, three teams are tied for first place in the standings, with all having about an even chance of winning the division championship and a place in the Class B tourney. By winning their games last week, Parowan and Beaver came up into a tie with Delta, who lost to the Millard team at Fillmore. Fill-more. Coach "Twist" Jones' team took the measure of the Milford Tigers, 44 to 35 in a game at Milford, and Beaver topped the Hinckley team 50 to 43 at Hinckley. Hinck-ley. Millard won from Delta by a 54-51 score, pulling the game out of the fire in the last quarter quar-ter after trailing during the first three periods. The Millard squad is not out of the race by any means, being just one game behind the leaders. Hinckley and Milford might as well be counted out of the race but can still have plenty to say about who is the winner. The Parowan Rams started out slowly at Milford, letting that team drop in three field goals before scoring a point, and then fought up hill to gain a 9-9 tie as the first period ended. Play was about even in the second quarter which ended with the Rams ahead 23-21. In the third quarter the Rams took over, running run-ning their score to 38 while all the Tigers could get was one field goal, scored in the last half-minute of the quarter. The Rams coasted through the fourth period with the Milford team gaining but. not coming close enough to be dangerous. Games this week end will see two of the top teams meeting at Parowan, with the Rams entertaining enter-taining the strong Delta Rabbits ' and trying to get revenge for a one point lss to that team early in the season. Millard will go to Hinckley for a hot one with the winner still in a position to get into the Region playoff. Beaver entertains the Milford team and should feel fairly safe in this one. The teams of the division are in for double dates next week with games on Wednesday and Saturday, with the Wednesday contests being crucial to the leaders no matter who they are. The Millard team will come to Parowan for what should be a nip and tuck affair and Beaver goes1 to Delta for another just as hot. Either one of the top three now which can win its next two will be in a good position to take the division, but with the losers still very much in the fight.
