Show Congressman Selects Nelda Clark As Personal Secretary Miss Nelda Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Clark of Cedar City, has resigned her position po-sition at the Bank of Southern Utah in Cedar City to accept ap-Hdntment ap-Hdntment as secretary to Congressman Con-gressman Douglas K. Stringfel-low Stringfel-low in Washington, D. C. She will leave for the nation's capital capi-tal on Saturday, and assume her new responsibilities on March 2. Miss Clark, who has been employed em-ployed at the bank since last June, made a very' commendable record of achievement while in school, at the Cedar City and Hollywood high schools, and at the Branch Agricultural college and the Los Angeles City college col-lege in California. After attending the Hollywood high school where she served as secretary of the student body, and served as a member of the California Scholarship Federation, Federa-tion, she entered llv 1 cal high school, from which she graduated. graduat-ed. At the Cedar City school she continued in many activities and won the American Legion oratorical oratori-cal contest, and was given a scholarship to the Branch Agricultural Agri-cultural college, and an activity award. Miss Clark continued her activities ac-tivities at the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college, from which she graduated. While at B A C she was a member of the debate team, and also received the Gamma Psi Oscar for scholarship scholar-ship in 1951. She also graduated from the Los Angeles City College business busi-ness department where she was one of 12 students chosen for membership In Alpha Phi Epsl-Ion, Epsl-Ion, national honorary secretary society; was named vice president presi-dent of Alethian Society, members mem-bers of which are chosen on a scholastic and leadership basis; served as president of the Lambda Lamb-da Delta Sigma organization, and was a member of the Student Board, division of U C L A University Uni-versity of Religions conference. |
