Show Pioneer Day Program Planned By Parowan D U P With the program for the observance ob-servance of Utah's Pioneer Day on Saturday, July 21 in the hands of the Elizabeth and Paulina camps of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the officers of these organizations have planned a meeting in the morning with a children's dance set for the afternoon. after-noon. With the race meet at Bea-Jver. Bea-Jver. a rodeo at Panguitch and many people u anting to go to the mountains, and with the Par-jowan Par-jowan High School band in Salt Lake City, it was felt that a full day's program could not be held. The program for the pioneer meeting to be held at 10:30 a. m. in the assembly room of the I Old Rock Church, as announced , by Mrs. Evelyn Lowder and Mrs. Lillian B. Heap, captains of the local D U P camps, is as follows: fol-lows: Song, "Come, Come Ye Saints," congregation; prayer by chaplain, chap-lain, address of welcome, Mayor Scott Mitchell; musical number, Mary B. Orton; talk, Arthur Joseph; Jo-seph; selection by harmonica band, reading by Jean Hendrick-son, Hendrick-son, selection by harmonica band and prayer by chaplain. Refreshments will be served following the meeting by the D U P, during which time a skit, "Little Brown Jug," will be given in costume by Minnie Lowder and Grace Holyoak. Officers of the sponsoring organization extend ex-tend an invitation to everyone to attend the meeting. The children's dance at 4 p. m. will be held in the First-Second Ward recreation hall. |
