Show Annual 4-H Outing for Iron County Clubs Arranged; Camp Activities Chairmen Named Tlans and preparations for thei Iron County 4-H annual outing scheduled lor Duck Creek campground camp-ground Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sat-urday, July 29, 30 and 31, are complete according to Emma Nielson, home demonstration agent for Iron County. Miss Nielson and Stephen L. Brower, county agent, will be directly di-rectly in charge of the three-day encampment; however, a host of committees have been appointed to handle the various phases of the activities. Thursday morning, July 2'J will I be devoted to registration and setting up of the various camps. The first meeting will be called at 2 p. m. with flag raising ceremonies cere-monies and a general get-acquainted meeting, followed by the election of officers for the encampment. Candidates for mayor of the camp include Dirk Cox of Hamilton's Ham-ilton's Fort, Beverly Barloeker of Beryl, and Hetty Ann Jones of Paragonah. Scribe candidates include Carolyn Knell, Newcastle; Newcas-tle; Annetta Cox, Hamilton Fortj and Barbara Jane Bayles, Tarawa Tara-wa n. At 7:30 p. m. Thursday and Friday the annual campfire programs pro-grams will be held featuring the skits prepared by each of the 4-H Clubs. Each club will present its skit and prizes will be awarded award-ed for the best performances. These campfire programs usually draw a considerable number of parents and interested citizens to the camp and the extension personnel per-sonnel advises that anyone wishing wish-ing to attend would he warmly welcomed by the group. Activities Friday will get under un-der way at 7 a. m., and will include in-clude handifcraft, various contests con-tests such as the famous log sawing contest, hiking, cleanup camp and recreational periods. The camp is scheduled to break up at noon on the final clay, Saturday. Sat-urday. Most of the clubs in the county have been busy preparing for the encampment which is a highlight high-light of the year for 4 Hers. |
