Show Junior Legion Team Readies for Baseball Opener Saturday afternoon on the local lo-cal baseball diamond the Cedar City Junior Legion baseball team will get its first taste of eompe-' tition when it meets a team from St. George. The Cedar City crew has been busy the past two weeks "whip ping" into shape to start an active ac-tive season for the youngsters 15 through 18. Ray Lindquist is coaching the group with Burns Sherratt acting as the representative represen-tative from the American Legion. Assisting with the workouts have been Blaine Nelson, Rex Ericks-son Ericks-son and Hal Christensen. A list of those who have been working out under the Junior Le-gian Le-gian program includes: Jack (Wood, Lee Sherratt. Gaylen Chris-itensen, Chris-itensen, Sheldon Sargent, Reid and Richard Heywood, Bevan Corry, Don Robinson, Mick Frame, Clayton Petty, Jerry Lee, Jack Gardner. Eddie Miller, Gayle -Simkins, Jerry -Frame, Frank Slack, Carl Bradshaw, Ron aid Stapley, Gordon Slack, Bruce Mace, Glennard Shaw, Kennie Griner and Charles Gamble. Uniforms have been ordered for the group and equipment purchased pur-chased to completely outfit the Junior Legion team. |
