Show KANARRrWILLE Mrs. Albert Doris A wedding reception was held in the ward recreation hall Saturday Sat-urday night, July 10 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Durrant, who were married that day in the St. George L D S temple. Mrs. Durrant is the former Rose Marie Mar-ie Williams, daughter of Mrs. Ethura Williams and the late Wells A. Williams. Arthur Fife and family of Albuquerque, Al-buquerque, N. M.. had a reunion reun-ion Sunday at their cabin in Dry Creek Canyon. They also visited visit-ed here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Terry O. Williams Wil-liams are business visitors in California. Some of our townspeople attended at-tended the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. James Watson in Toquerville last week. Dick. Donna Gayle and Colleen Fife of Summit spent a few days last week here with their grandmother, grand-mother, Hannah A. Davis.. Linda Caldwell has returned home after visiting in Murray with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Reeve Chidister and son of Salt Lake City were visitors with Mrs. Chidister's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lysle Piatt. Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Williams Wil-liams spent a few days on the Parowan Mountains. The MIA enjoyed a melon bust Tuesday evening of last week. A son was born at the Iron County hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Haskell of Payson. Ivan and his parents came to see their new son and grandson Sunday. Mrs. Haskell has been here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Batty. Visitors at Las Vegas last week were Devon Reeves, Berneice Williams Wil-liams and Iona Livermore. J. V. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Davis, is home on leave for a few days. He is stationed sta-tioned at Fort Ord, Calif. Austin Ence had the misfortune misfor-tune to cut his leg badly while I on the mountain. It required sev- eral stitches to close the wound. George A. Berry has returned home from Salt Lake City after visiting there for a while. He was accompanied home by his daughter, Eloda Newberger, and his grandsons, John Ross and Chris Anderson. His other daughter, daugh-ter, Gloria Anderson, came this week. They will all visit here for awhile. Speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday were Albert Albertson of the stake high council and Walter Walt-er K. Granger, of Cedar City. Out of town visitors here were Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Williams of , Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Emer-son Williams and daughter of Las Veeas. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Pollock and children of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Burns Parker and children of Compton, Calif. Melvin Parker, also of ' Compton, spent a few days here with relatives and friends. He has just recently been released from the armed forces. Mr. and Mrs. Harland Durrand entertained a group of 22 ladies at their home last week at a social. so-cial. All were telephone operators where Mr. Durrand works. They also had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Switzer of Laguna Beach, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Stapley and two of their grandchildren of Delta visited here Friday with relatives and friends. A Stapley reunion was held at Duck Creek Saturday. Visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pollock, are two of their daughters, Joyce of Spanish Fork, and Mrs. Nola Merrill and daughter Carolee of Payson. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hale and Mrs. Lee Cox of Wyoming called on Mr. and Mrs. Jess Williams for a short visit. Mrs. Hazel Davis has returned home from Salt Lake City where she took her mothet, Mrs. Rosena Blake of St. George to undergo surgery for a broken hip. Her mother was able to return with her and spends part of her time in a wheel chair. |
