Show Local Kiwanians See Film Showing Rivers Role Kiwanians of Cedar City were shown, by way of a colored motion mo-tion picture produced by the Minneapolis-Moline Co., the important im-portant part rivers have played in the development of the United Unit-ed States in a film entitled, "Rivers "Riv-ers and Soils." Points of origin of all of our great rivers in the U. S. were traced and some of the industries and farm commodities that are produced along their banks were shown in the film. Some of the more important rivers depicted in the film were of course the Mississippi Mis-sissippi River and its main contributor, con-tributor, the Missouri River; the Rio Grande River, the Colorado River, the Columbia River and the Hudson River. Events of history of points of historical prominence along the banks of these rivers were shown in full color by the film; however, how-ever, emphasis was placed on the agricultural benefits reaped by these streams from east to west and from north to south. The meeting was held Monday Mon-day evening in Hotel El Eseal-ante Eseal-ante and president Richard Morris Mor-ris was in charge. Rev. Wm. Burton Bur-ton is program director for the club. Next week, Monday, July 26. the group of civic workers will meet at the Kiwanis playground on 1150 West for a work night. They expect to do repairs, and generally clean up the grounds to facilitate the use of the park for the youngsters of the area. |
