Show BAC Sophomores! AndFacultyReady For Zion Trek Members of the sophomore class and faculty of Branch Agricultural colkge are assembling bed rolls and "grub boxes" for the annual over night trek to Zlon Canyon Friday and Saturday. Committee members are making last minute preparations for the biggest-cver affair of this kind In the history of the college. Rulon Woodbury, Hurricane is general chairman of the outing. Working with him are Ray Sabln, Cedar City in charge of recreation events; Wil-lard Wil-lard Jones, Cedar City who is providing pro-viding for guide service, sightseeing; Frank Petty, Cedar City, transportation; transpor-tation; Vivian Hatch, Koosharem, eats; and Professor William H. Manning in charge of the colorful annual initiation ceremonies. Buses will leave the campus at 1 p. m. Saturday to take all students participating In the trek. Bed rolls, sleeping bags and other camping equipment will be loaded before that time, committee members report. A series of hikes are planned for the afternoon, with fireside entertainment enter-tainment for the evening. Each fraternity and sorority on the campus cam-pus has been assigned to provide part of the entertainment, and faculty fa-culty members are expected to "let down their hair" and provide a "skit" for the program. An Important pan of the evening will be the colorful initiation of new-comers into the mysterious "order of the ladle". Dancing at the lodge will round out the evening, with taps at midnight. Faculty members will gather for an early morning breakfast Saturday, Satur-day, before the second series of hikes and sightseeing trips begins. Buses will return to Cedar City beginning be-ginning Saturday morning, leaving at two three hour intervals. |
