Show Officers May Go on Competitive Tour Reserve Officers, now on active duty or in inactive status will have an opportunity to start July 15 on 12 month competitive tours of duty leading to Regular Army Commissions, Commis-sions, it was announced today by 1st Sgt. Staker, commander of the United States Army and Air Forces Recruiting office. Applcatlons for the tour may be made by officers of all branches of the Army, excepting those of the Medical Corps, Dental Corps, and Judge Advocate General's department. depart-ment. Ages of applicants must be not less than 21 nor more than 28 years on June 1, 1948, except for Medical Service Corps and Veterinary Corps personnel who may be 30 years old or Corps of Chaplains applicants who ma? be 34. Educational requirements are: Satsfactory completion of two years at an accredited college or passing of the Army's college level general educational development tests with certain minimum scores. Those selected for regular commissions com-missions will be notified at the end of the 12-montth tour. Command-I Command-I ers may recommend an additional six months of active duty, governed govern-ed by Army policies for reserve officers of-ficers on extended tours, or may request separation. Applications for those on active duty must reach Headquarters Sixth Army, Presidio of San Francisco, California not later than May 27. Those in civilian status should apply ap-ply direct to the Adjutant General, Washington. D. C. |
