Show Bronco Track and Field Stars Dominate B. Y. U. Annual Meet Dan Lindsay, outstanding hlgr Jumper, hurdler and sprinter, led the Branch Agricultural college track and field team In a display of power that completely dominated dominat-ed the Junior College division of the Brlgham Young university annual track and Held meet a, Provo, Saturday. Sat-urday. Although no team championship champion-ship was at stake In the meet the showing of Cottch Murray Maughan's Broncos marked them as kings of the lntormountain region reg-ion In the great spring sport. The Broncos walked off with ten first places In the sixteen events held, and placed In every event except ex-cept the broad J' amp. Maughan's charges took first, 1 Kcond and third In the discus, first t ud second In the low hurdles, high J' amp and Javelin, and placed no low. er than third In any even except th e 440 yard dash, in which they so red fourth and fifth - Lindsay proved 1 0 be a sensation, breaking the record la the high Jump with a leap of 6 feet 2r34 inches, in-ches, won both hurdle races easily and run one - leg of the 880 relay re-lay which the Pjonco won. Dan's performance was so outstanding that he actually oversha dowed the performances of three nationally prominent traok and fitdd men who will probably be mem bens of the United States Olympic team and who were invited to the B Y U for special events. The nimble Bronco besides breaking break-ing the high Jump record which had stood since 1928, won the high hurdles hur-dles in :16.3, the low hurdles in :27J, and helped Bunny Fullmer, Bob Nowers and Gordon Beckstrand, win the 800-yard relay in 1:34.7. Two of the first places not won by the Broncos went to Dixie' college's col-lege's brilliant Don Homer, who won the 220 and 440 yard dashes, two went to Jim Hamilton of Ricks, who won the mile and two mile races. Bob Hawks took the shot put for Mesa college's only first and Fred Benton gave Westminster one first by winning the broad Jump. In addition to the 'three events won by Lindsay and the 880 yard relay team, the Broncos first place winners were Bunny Fullmer In the 100 yard dash (10.6) ; 880 yard run, Bob Peterson, (2:06); Pole vault, Bob Nowers, (12 feet 2 inches); Discus, Dahl Cleave, (132 feet 6 Inches); In-ches); Javelin, Clark Mathews, (168 feet); Mile Relay, Dick Hoyle, LaVon Urie, Gale Woodbury, Joe Beckstrand, (3:51.3). Second places were won by the following Broncos: Boyd Rollins, mile run; Darwin Woodbury, Low hurdles; Dale Roberts, tied for second sec-ond in pole vault; Bruce Burr, discus; dis-cus; Joe Beckstrand, high Jump; Darwin Woodbury, Javelin. Remaining places worn by the Broncos Included Dahl Gleave, third in the shot put; Gall Woodbury, fourth and LaVon Urie, fifth in the 440; Bruce Burr, third, and Boyd Rollins, fourth in the 880-yard run; Gordon Beckstrand, third in the 220; Ray Eabln, third In the two-mile two-mile run; Darwin Woodbury, tied for fifth In the pole vault; Drew Halght, third In the discus; Dick Hoyle and Bob Nowers, tied for fourth, and J.
