Show The Relief Society organizations of the First and Fifth Wards en-Joyed en-Joyed an excellent Mothers and Daughters party at the Forest Recreation Rec-reation camp In Cedar Canyon Thursday evening. One hundre.1 two ladles enjoyed a campflre supper sup-per and a delightful program. The affair was arranged by the Relief Society Presidents of the two Wards, Mrs Heber Holyoak of the First Ward and Mrs. DeUtoy Hunter Hun-ter of the Fifth Ward. Miss Bess Ward, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ward of Parowan Par-owan was honored at a tea at the home of Mrs. I. E. Riddle Tuesday afternoon. Miss Ward will beconw the bride of Mr. Alma Holt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joa. Holt of Enterprise, Enter-prise, on August 3rd. The marriage ceremony will be performed in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple. Mr. and Mrs. John S. Chrlsten-sen Chrlsten-sen returned this morning from a trip to California. They were accompanied ac-companied by their son Paul, who suffered a broken arm In a bicycle accident while laboring in the mission mis-sion field. He was granted a vacation vaca-tion as the result of the injury and because of Illness. Porter Clark, Sergeant In the 304th. Field Artillery, was In town for a few hours Monday, enroute to Las Vegas to visit with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Clark. Porter is stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Fisher, and Mrs. Chauncey Macfarlane were visitors in Los Angeles during the first of the week. Mr. Fisher and Mrs. Macfarlane spent most of their time buying merchandise for the D. Stevens Co. store. Word was received this week from Fort Lewis, Washington, that Arthur Dlx, son of Mrs. Nellie Dlx, who has been serving with the 304th. Field Artillery since March 1941, has been promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Earl Chatterley who has been working in Salt Lake City for some time, was home for a short visit over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lundgren of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, are visiting In Cedar City with Mr. Lundgren's parenU, Mr. and Mrs. Charlea Lundgren. |
