CEDAR CITY - A representative for Camino Manor, 8 N. 800 West, approached the Cedar Clity Planning Commisison last week and laid out a proposal to convert the apartments into condominiums. Rich Wilson brought the plan before the Planning Commission mainly to let the body know what was happening. He did not need approval lor such a change. According to City Manager Joe Melling, the Commission saw no problems with the plan, as long as Wilson meets all the criteria and abides by the ordinances set by the city. Commissioner Gayle Adams said that building the condomiums was a popular thing to do near the college because parents could purchase them and then in turn rent them to the students. Also discussed at the Planning Commission meeting was the ; possibility of a new zoning designation or an amendment to the present one to allow rural settings in certain places inside of the City limits. The zone, if established, would allow animals in the certain areas and change curb and gutter regulations for the specific sites. The Commission suggested to Frank Nichols, who proposed the plan, to look into other cities' ordinances and present a more defined proposal to it at a later date. In other business, the Commission denied a petition by Bulloch Brothers to build a cul-de-sac at Cedar Ridge Subdivision, because it did not meet the City requirements which state that there must be a 90-foot 90-foot frontage at the site. The proposal was referred the the Board of Adjustments, according to Melling, and the engineers were told to revise the portions that did not meet requirements and then present the proposal again. |
