Show Chamber hears PBL CEDAR CITY In touch with the business of America was the theme of the December Chamber of Commerce membership meeting here, presented by the SUSC business club, Phi Beta Lambda. Jeff Maxwell, president of PBL conducted the program. Scott Johnson presented the purposes, goals and creed of the national organization. Jan Jolley gave an overview of the activities of the group. - These include service projects, fund raisers, leadership conferences, speakers P iiiiiwiw minium program, competition and business person banquet. Brian Goettlich reported on activities at the Western Region Leadership Conference in Portland, Oregon. True Ott shared what PBL means to him. Jeff Maxwell also discussed the State Career Day Project and state and national competition. Special guest speaker was Gary M. Lloyd of the Utah State Office of Education and chairperson for FBLA-PBL FBLA-PBL in Utah. He spoke on the theme "Keeping in Touch with the Business of America," free enterprise emphasis in PBL and a brief history of FBLA-PBL in Utah. Other items on the program included the presentation of the Employee of the Month recognition to Paul Douglas from Bradshaw Chevrolet Company. The SUSC Women's Volleyball Team was also honored. Coach Joy Peterson reported on the team's activities and awards and accepted the recognition of the Chamber on behalf of the team. mmmmmmmmammm |
