Mr and Mrs. Vern Wilkens of Cor-rine Cor-rine Utah, visited here with his mother, Blanche Wilkens, and other ' i relatives. Tuesday evening a pot luck ! dinner was held at the Blake Peterson ' home. Games, eating and visiting t were enjoyed. Those attending were a He Vern Wilkens and girls of Corrine, " Ihe Ron Walkers and children and the " jjdy Sidebottoms and daughter of Vernal, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sessions and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gates and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Peterson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peterson and boys, Mrs. Velda Wilkens and Marie Peterson. There really real-ly was a moose hit on the highway Tuesday morning, only the area it was supposedly hit was wrong. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sessions Ses-sions told their parents they had seen a dead moose. Upon investigation they found it below the Ken Edrington's driveway. The highway patrol was called on to check it out. The Fish "and Game Department then came and took the carcass away. The Explorer group 888 are learning CP.R. The leaders are taking time to teach these young adults a very essential essen-tial part of a life saving technique. Mr. and Mrs. Meril Snow attended a family reunion at the home of her brother, Don Merkley, at Corvallis, Montana. Don and Marie Merkley are entering enter-ing the L.T.C. in Provo this July prior to filling a mission in Australia. The Boy Scouts, under the direction of Byron Tolman, returned from Camp Mapledell Saturday, Lee Sharp was the adult in charge from Sunday evening even-ing through Friday. Then Dave Star-buck Star-buck was there to help the boys prepare to break camp and come home on Saturday. While they were there the 11 boys enjoyed cooking, camping, hiking, swimming, canoe- ing, doing leatherwork and more. Many merit badges and skill awards were earned during the scouting week. They won third place for cleanest campsite during the week. After seeing that the boys were settled settl-ed and under the care of Mr. Sharp, Mr. Tolman took his famUy for a week of vacationing fun in the Salt Lake ' area. They returned to camp on Saturday Satur-day to bring the boys' gear home. A few crickets can be seen in the Green River campgrounds now. It is supposed that they might be coming across the bridge near there according to the report of the ranger. Jensen Ward Primary held its annual an-nual summer carnival last week. Concessions Con-cessions were sold, games and crafts were enjoyed by all who attended. Explorer Post 888 is working on a car to enter in the demolition derby on July 25, during the Pioneer Day festivities. |
