Show Funeral pays tribute to Bry Stringham Funeral services for Briant (Bry) Stringham, 94, who died July 13, 1983, were Saturday, July 16 at the Vernal First Ward Chapel. The family prayer at the mortuary was by Roland Searle. Bishop Charles Preece conducted the service. Don Wilson gave the invocation. Bishop Charles gave some remarks. Robert Stringham gave a eulogy and said Stringham was the last survivor of his family. He said he served an LDS mission in Hawaii, and was proud of being a sheepherder. Lawrence Siddoway said Stringham was a "man of action and builder of the area." He was instrumental in forming for-ming the CUP which "is the most significant event for the state since statehood." He worked locally for the Echo Park Dam. "He lost the battle for the Echo Park Dam, but won the war with efforts to build the Flaming Gorge, Steinaker and Red Fleet dams. Ralph Siddoway said that Stringham never got old. He had influence on people. peo-ple. "He could get me to do things even my mother couldn't," Siddoway said. "He was the best in all he did." Also at the service Dorothy Luck and Daun White sang "Beautiful Land" accompanied by Melba Eaton. Billy Jackson gave a reading, and Blaine Pierce sang. Ralph Port gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by DeAnn Burgon. Burial was at the Maeser Fairview Cemetery. Hugh Colton dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Jeff Jessup, Terry Pitt, Charles Stringham, Karl Wallace, Kent Stringham, and Ken Stringham. The Vernal First Ward Relief Society Socie-ty was in charge of the flowers. |
