Barrett, Regional Director for the Bureau of Reclamation's Upper Colorado Region. Thepostponed meetings were to have been held Jan. 20 in Vernal; Jan. 21 in Green River, Wyo. ; Jan. 28 in Salt Lake City. The purpose of the study is to determine if it is feasible to add power generation facilities to the existing outlet works at Flaming Gorge Dam, and the study will continue. "Recent emphasis by the Reagan Administration on the desirability of looking at non-federal power development at federal dams requires that we reevaluate portions of the studj-. Since non-federal development of additional peaking power at Flaming Gorge is a possibility, it must be thoroughly considered before public meetings are held," Barrett stated. Public meetings will be rescheduled at a later date. |
