Show Naples Jo Openshow Phone 789-3157 Former resident dies in Ogden Word was received here of the death of Clyde Gardiner of Ogden, a former member of Naples Ward. The funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 16. Going to Ogden for the funeral from here were Georgia Goodrich, Guyla Norton, Afton Calder, Loraa Stringham, Wayne Gardiner, Carl Gardiner and Melvin Gardiner. James and Christine Richardson and family have moved into their new home on 2000 East. Tonj Grammer had an appendectomy Saturday evening in the Ashley Valley Medical Center. Glen and Toni Reynolds arid son Fred and JoAnn Novinger and daughter Jennifer, Veronica Jaramillo, Keith and Linda Murray, Kenneth and Annette Reynolds and sons and Dale Openshaw of Sandy were at the Salt Lake City Airport to see Kirk Reynolds off to his LDS mission to Jackson. Mississippi last Wednesday. Marion and Eula Southam of Roosevelt visited in the ward last Sunday. Gary and El va Lin Lund and children of Huntsville visited during the weekend with their mother Elva Manwaring and family. Willis and Carol Southam and daughters Teresa Southam and Connie Haslem and Mike Haslem and daughter Kathy went to the Salt Lake City Airport Air-port Saturday evening to meet Deena Southam who was returning from Massachusetts Boston LDS mission. Sister Southam reported her mission Sunday in Naples 1st Ward. Mrs. Don Carpenter of Rock Springs came to visit a week with Linus and Tammy Harrison and help in the home to care for her new granddaughter. Naples 1st Ward girls had a surprise birthday party for their MIA president LaVon Bascom Friday night in the Naples Cultural Hall. Chris and Roxie Ivy have a baby girl born Jan. 16 in the Ashley Valley Medical Center. The baby weighed 6 lbs. 8 oz. and will be named Amber Nicole. Glendon and LaNae Manwaring and children of Redmond, Wash, visited two days last week with their mother Elva Manwaring and family. Ronnie and Mary Navanick and daughters of Randlett visited Elva Manwaring and family Saturday evening. Hugh and Cleo Oldaker had a family dinner Saturday evening at their home in honor of their sister Dorothea's birthday. Present were Carl and Shirley Oldaker and family and Reva and Larry Ruppe. David and Marilyn Smith have a baby boy born Jan. 11 in the Ashley Valley Medical Center. The baby weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19'2 inches long. He will be named Robert Brian. Mrs. Smith's parents Jack and Doris Gidney of Grand Junction came to care for the Smith children while their mother was in the hospital. Mr. Gidney went home last Wednesday. Mrs. Gidney stayed to help in the home for a few days. Norda Cook came home from the LDS Hospital last Tuesday and is convalescing at her home. |
