External affairs director appointed Jack Lyman has accepted the position of director of external affairs for the White River Shale Oil Corporation. Cor-poration. Lyman is the former deputy director of the state department of natural resources and energy. His appointment become effective Jan. 11. White River Shale Oil Corporation is a joint venture of Sohio Shale Oil Co. Phillips Petroleum Co. and Sonoco Energy Development Co. Formerly known as the White River Shale Project, the corporation is developing Federal Oil Shale Lease Tracts Ua and Ub, south of Bonanza. Lyman came to work for the state in 1977 as an energy conservation specialist in the newly created Energy Office. In 1979 he was named director of that office and when the office was combined with the Natural Resources Department last year he was named deputy director. At White River, Lyman will be responsible for developing and maintaining contacts with state and local governments officials, directing media relationships, and establishing company housing programs. |
