Show l - v ..... " j v. " : -v , I NELLIE KING Services held for Nellie Carter King Nellie Fletcher Carter King, 79, died in Phoenix, Ariz. Jan. 9, 1982. Nellie was born Dec. 9, 1903 in Vernal to William Lee and Sarah Melissa Oaks !Fletcher. She married Robert (Lawrence (Lobb) Carter April 16, 1924. They lived in Vernal a number of years 'and then in Salt Lake City where they 'raised their family. They later moved to Phoenix, Ariz, to be near their son , Robert and his family. Mr. Carter died D February 1969. Nellie has been active in the Salt ke City Belvedere Ward as an brganist and pianist. She didn't miss httending for nine years and was awarded an outstanding service certificate cer-tificate by the LDS Primary Association. She was always an excellent ex-cellent musician and if you could hum a tune, she could play it. She loved music nd sang in several choruses. As a 'young woman in Vernal she played at iances and community events. I In December of 1969 she married berell King. They lived in Dutch John ind then moved to Phoenix several wars ago. She was a member of the 'hoenix LDS Eighth Ward. She is survived by her husband Derell, and by her son Robert Lloyd barter, five grandchildren and 15 p-eat-grandchildren and a brother ?lair Fletcher of Salt Lake City. She . vas preceded in death by two laughters, Ethel Lois Carter and Sarah ' Colleen Carter Conde. Graveside services were held Jan. 13 j it Memory Lawn Memorial Park in fioenix. Conducting was Bishop Lex le Azevedo, her eldest granddaughter's 'j.. lusband. DeLoy Bitner gave the family irayer. ': The invocation was given by Jack Jailey and Dr. Bryce Boyer, a nephew, elated her life story. The musical election, "In the Garden," was erformed by Harold Gaisford. Robert Carter, a son, dedicated the grave. - Pallbearers were Floyd and Lynne Cing, Roy Showalter, Victor Karren, ?arl Roberts and Richard Urlaub. |
