Show Jensen J Gladys Peterson I Phone 789-1945 J Baby girl born to Roe Andersons Mr.. and Mrs. Roe Anderson are proud pro-ud parents of a baby girl. Mrs. Anderson Ander-son is the former Janice Snow. The tiny new miss will be named Angie Rose. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bart Snow of Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Anderson of Vernal. Great grandparents grand-parents are Mr. and Mrs. Leon Moon of Jensen. To welcome the tiny new miss a baby shower in her honor was held at the Ed Taylor home given by hostess Vicky Taylor. Games were played and refreshments served. Many gifts were presented to the new baby. Stephanie, daughter of Karen and Larry Gross, celebrated her first birthday birth-day March 3. She had a little birthday party at 2 in the afternoon. Those in attendance at-tendance were Mrs. Alice Gurr, (great grandmother) Vera Gurr, Tammy Holmes, sons Jared and Rhett, Diane Colthorp, children Brett and Dena, Freda Abplanalp and grandson Jerimy . Games were played, ice cream and cupcakes were served. That evening to help her celebrate her first milestone were her brother, Jason and sister Janetta, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Gross, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Chad Peterson and their two sons, Justin and Scott. A pretty birthday cake was served to all present with a scoop of ice cream. Mary Nell Snow spent a few days in the local hospital combating a bout with pnemonia. Marie Peterson came from Rock Springs, Spr-ings, Wyoming again this week to visit her family Blake and Ila Peterson, her brother, Arlen and Keith Peterson's families. She went to Vernal and visited her sister, Lana Walker and her family. Shirley Ainge, father of Sherie Dickey, has been sustained as the first counselor to the branch president in 'White Rock Branch. Steven Paulson was put in as second counselor, Blaine 1 D. Morrill was sustained as branch president. Shirley and Steven are former Jensen residents. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Edrington were told that Ken's grandmothers had passed pass-ed away and they came in from Rainbow. Rain-bow. Lory's parents had the privilege of tending their little daughter, Amanda, for a few days. Sunday, March 9, Fran Peterson celebrated his birthday with his family. All children were in attendancae except two sons, Stan who's on a mission in Texas and Eugene who lives in Salt Lake City. Three young men from Jensen participated par-ticipated in the junior high 7th and 8th grade tournament the last wrestling bout of the school year. Congratulations for their great effort and honors go to Chad Bedell who placed third. Gary Murray who placed first and Wilbert Woody who not only took first place, but also received a trophy for pinning all his opponents during the meet. Reita and JaRee Ruppe, Ann Peterson, Peter-son, Reva Ruppe and Shirley Oldaker motored to Provo and met with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Siderburg, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Bunn and Mr. Douglas Clark to go over some family records. They spent two days visiting there and had an enjoyable en-joyable time. While there they visited Cal Ruppe who attends BYU. Robert Raines and Nita Powell were chaperones for a group of eighteen youth who traveled to Provo over the weekend. While there the group went to the mall. They returned home that evening. Penny Ann Murray has the opportunity opportuni-ty to go with the high school girls basketball team to be in a tournament in Salt Lake City this week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Murray will travel there to support their daughter and the Vernal team. A few of the Jensen residents were at the disadvantage of having their water turned off while a line was repaired. Mrs. Sharon Bedell took her son, Travis to Duchesne to participate in Tiger League Wrestling. There will be a tri-stake musical presented. If you are intersted and would like to be included, contact Bishop Lyn Morrill for try-out forms. The title of the musical is "Within These Walls." Keep in mind the ward auction to be held March 21 at Jensen. If you have anything to donate, contact Bishop Morrill 789-2120. There will be food available to buy. More information to appear next week. Christine Peterson was a guest at the Grant Ainge home in Rangely, Colorado, Col-orado, for five days. Mr. and Mrs. Monty Hewitt traveled to Provo to attend the wedding of Lani Olsen, one of Melonie's friends and while there they were able to see Mont Warren who's attending the BYU. Then they went on to Salt Lake City and visited with Monty's parents, the Howard Hewitts, and other relatives. They attended the genealogical library and obtained some information on relatives. Monty's brother Malyn has been a guest in the Hewitt home this past week. He returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Auer Warren went to Roosevelt to attend the funeral of his uncle Moral Warren. Nikkie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Wilkens, celebrated her sixth birthday Monday, March 10, and to nelp her celebrate sne had many friends come from kindergarten on the bus. Thev were served a luncheon by their mother after they'd played some games and opened her gilts. Fran Peterson had a phone call from his son Stan, from Galvaston, Texas, to wish him happy birthday and also to let his parents know that he is doing well, and is keeping busy. Many of our youth in MIA participated par-ticipated in the roadshow that was put on this week. The script was written and produced by Patty Allred and was entitled "The Fued-Dudley vs. Moon." The play was taken from some old area records about a time when there was difficulty amid two families. The youth had a lot of fun preparing for this night. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Peterson and family attended meetings in town Sunday Sun-day where they supported Larry's brother as he was sustained into the bishopric. |
