Show ':r'v-L " 'l ,V-' CAROLYN HALES, senator at Southern Utah State College. Vernal student elected to Senate at Cedar Carolyn Hales, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hales, Vernal, has been elected to the ASSUSC Senate, the legislative branch of government at Southern Utah State College in Cedar City. Hales was elected as one of two senators to represent students in the school of education. She will take office March 18 and will remain in office until the end of winter quarter 1981. The new senator is a sophomore at SUSC majoring in elementary education educa-tion with minors in child development and reading. She plans to teach elementary elemen-tary school after she graduates. Hales is a 1978 graduate of Uintah High School. She received an academic scholarship to attend Southern Utah State her freshman year and has served as a member of the SUSC Ambassador's Am-bassador's Club and the a'cappella choir. She is serving as chapter president presi-dent of Lambda Delta Sigma this year and will be an inter-chapter president next year. As a member of the ASSUSC Senate, Hales will be involved in legislative functions such as the consideration of bills, apportionment of funding, and the ratification or rejection of executive appointments. |
