Show Vernal grapplers garner honors in Duchesne Wrestlers from Vernal captured honors in a Utah Wrestling Coaches' Freestyle Tournament in Duchesne, Saturday. Ryan Horrocks, bantam, 45, captured first place, and Lloyd Golding, J.B. Jackson, Travis Hanberg. Rhett Smuin, Ryston Slaugh, Chezland Slaugh, 45; Jody Jackson, Travis Johnson, Gary Serrano and Cory Hackford, bantam, 60, did not place. David Hall, bantam, 70, pocketed second se-cond place and Kirk Hanberg, bantam, 65, nabbed third place. Bryan Van-Tassell, Van-Tassell, bantam, 55, garnered second place. Jake Cameron, Casey Beynon, David Gurr, Jason Rulkerson, Russell Golding, Quin Dickson, Shawn Moon, James Dillon, Callo Lee, Brian Huber and Greg Roberts did not place. Derek Dickson, midget, pocketed first place. First place in the 80 pound division in the midget class was nabbed by Mike McCurdy. Clay Christensen, midget, 90 and Steve Hatch, midget, heavyweight, nabbed first places. Shawn Rodgers, midget heavyweight; Brian Murray, 85 and Jeff Cranney, 90, placed second. Bart Huber and Trent Searle garnered third places. Travis Slaugh did not place. Gordon Limb, midget, 65, placed second se-cond and Chance Rollins, 60, nabbed third place. Craig Huber, 60, netted fourth place. Also competing in the tournament were: Kyle Smuin, Greg Young, Gary Hacking, Jason Hanburg, Justin Johnson, Bobby Roberts, Jeff Jackson, Travis Nielson, Brent Dillon, Travis Bedell, Nathan Sunkees, Todd Shiner, Craig Blaisure, Jamie Childs and Randy Golding. Wade Brown, 90 and Joe Newell, 85, collected first place titles in the intermediate in-termediate class. David Weeks, heavyweight, placed first in the advanced ad-vanced division. Brad Dickson, 130; Bucky Tingey, 138, and Seymore Bedoni, 121, placed second. Jamie Evans. 121. netted third place. Elite wrestlers. Brett Brown, 106; Josh Reynolds. 123; Jeff Good, 132; Matt Hacking. 154, and Ken Cobbs, 192. earned first place crowns. Wayne Huber, heavyweight, open class netted first place. Billy Burnard, junior, 119; Larry Curtis, Cur-tis, heavyweight; Max Merkley, 75 and Don Haworth, 60. garnered first places. Chad Jenkins. 108. placed second. Tom Lund, 108 and Troy Bergstome. 80, nabbed nab-bed third places. Larry Wiseman, 75, collected fifth. Also-taking part in the action were Spencer Robbins, Richard Horrocks, Larry Hansen, Greg Jaramillo, Mitch Hall and Mark Larsen. Brian Richens, junior, 75, picked up second place honors in a tournament at Weber High School in Ogden, Saturday, Tracy Richens, midget, 65, nabbed fourth place. Tournaments are set for Saturday at Payson High School and Bountiful High School. Meets will also be held on March 22 at Brighton High School and Spanish Fork High School. ' A regional tournament will be held at Uintah High School, March 29.
